Clark Hockensmith was at Centralia, September 27, 1864. He was killed at Wakefield farm outside Smilely, Kentucky, May 10, 1865 while trying to save Quantrill's life. He pulled Quantrill up in front of him on the saddle in the Kentucky escape attempt.
