M1839 US Oval Box Plate - Excavated Excavated, Battle Of Wilderness, Virginia. Great dark brown face. Complete with both hooks and full lead with only a couple of flakes missing. Getting harder to find box plates in this condition. An added bonus is the carving of the letter "K" in the back. Maybe a company marking?? Great solid plate.
