Fantastic example of a dug seldom encountered variety of Confederate Imported Snake Buckle. Similar to Mullinax # 198 ( 2nd Edition - Expanded ). Totally authentic and fairly rare.
This Snake Buckle is an excavated relic of Petersburg, Virginia. It was recovered in Butler's South Carolina Cavalry Brigade camps near Petersburg.
Made of cast brass, this specimen, is whole, complete and un-repaired. Has a great, deep brown patina. Quite attractive.
Definitely a Confederate Snake buckle that is not seen very readably on the market, if ever. Here is your chance to own a really nice, definitely Confederate recovered and identified buckle.
