M1859 U.S. Horse Bit Battlefield Pick-Up A wonderful, intact bit from Brandy Station Virginia. Site of the Civil War's largest cavalry battle. This bit is an early battlefield pick-up. This is a "true" M1859, shown by the long, sleek, flowing cheek pieces, compared to the M1863, which were shorter, and thicker. Complete with both original U.S. bridle bosses intact as well as curb chain. Missing lip bar, as many were removed by the cav trooper. Desirable and very historic.
